Todd Hasselbeck, Chief Executive Officer
Todd has been the President and CEO of Common Voices since January 2005, when he joined the founders to lead the company from its development stage to commercial success. Prior to this, he served as an executive for Cisco Systems, where he had responsibility for sales, customer support and product strategy at Verizon, Verizon Wireless and Genuity. He also played a key role in establishing Cisco’s Service Provider partnering program for third party software companies. Earlier, Todd was the Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Service for Summa Four, a leading switching supplier which merged with Cisco in 1998. As Vice President of International Sales for Boston Technology, he joined the company when it had only three US customers and $35 million in revenues. Throughout the 1980’s Todd held sales management and general management roles at Alcatel NV, building data networking businesses in Australia, New Zealand and the US. Todd earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University.
Don Picard, Chief Strategy Officer
Don has more than 15 years experience designing, developing and deploying telecom software applications. He was the fifth employee of Boston Technology, Inc., where he worked for 11 years as Systems Architect. In this role, he was responsible for the overall technical direction of the company's products, as well as serving as technical lead and consultant for major customer accounts. He is an inventor on many patents in the fields of distributed voice messaging, voice applications systems and systems bridging traditional telecom applications with the Internet. As the Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of Informio, Inc., he architected and deployed a nation-wide network of carrier-class VoiceXML platforms. He was also the architect of Informio's VoiceXML applications, including SpeedMail, a VoiceXML and WAP application for telephony access to enterprise messaging systems. He is a graduate of Cornell University.
José J. Capó, Chief Technology Officer
José served as Principal Software Engineer and Manager of the VoiceXML Browser Group at Informio, Inc., which was responsible for the development of Informio's VoiceXML gateway. He was an active member of the W3C Voice Browser Working Group, which set the standard for VoiceXML, as well as the future direction for the standard. He also contributed to the development of Informio SpeedMail, a VoiceXML and WAP application for telephony access to enterprise messaging systems. In addition, he served in such capacities as Principal Software Engineer and Manager of Software Engineering at LHS Priority Call, Inc. and Research Scientist at Boston Technology, Inc. He is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Jade Chang, Vice President Customer Service and Quality Assurance
Jade is responsible for both Customer Service and Quality Assurance programs at Common Voices. She joined the Common Voices team in 2002 as Director of Quality Assurance. Prior to joining Common Voices, Jade served as Director of Quality Assurance at Informio Inc., where she implemented its software release process, and managed feature and performance testing for Informio's VoiceXML applications, including SpeedMail, a VoiceXML and WAP application for telephony access to enterprise messaging systems. Prior to joining Informio, Jade was Vice President of Development for Fixed Income Trading, Risk Management, and Quantitative Research, at Massachusetts Financial Services (MFS) which had over $100 billion assets under management at the time. Jade has a Master's degree in Computer Science, from Southern Illinois University.
William J. Burke, Vice President, Administration
Bill is responsible for human resources, pricing, customer contracts, and all administrative functions at Common Voices. He brings over 30 years of leadership experience in the telecommunications, computer, software, and capital markets industries to his role. He was the first Vice President of Finance and Administration, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer at Boston Technology and has served in senior management roles at a number of entrepreneurial companies. Since 1988, he has raised more than $90 million of working capital. Bill has also been an investment banker and as Director of Telecommunications Banking at Tucker Anthony, he managed private placement, public offering, merger and acquisition, and financial advisory assignments. He received an MBA from Suffolk University, a BS in Accounting from Bentley College and is a graduate of the MBA Update 2000 Program at the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College.
Pierre de Villiers, Vice President, Research & Development
Pierre came to Common Voices from Comverse (formerly Boston Technology), where he held a number of positions over 12 years, most recently as Director of Project and Content Management. In this role he managed all projects undertaken in the company's Mobile Entertainment division. During his tenure, he also led the company's effort to improve the reliability of its voice processing platforms, oversaw the company's patent applications, and directed a team of 30 software engineers, technical writers, quality assurance managers and project managers. Prior to Boston Technology, Pierre was an engineer at ATEX Electronic Pre-Press Systems. He has an MS in Electrical Engineering and a BS in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa.
Christopher Berluti, Vice President of Channels and OEM Sales
Chris is responsible for developing all partnerships, OEM’s and sales channels for Common Voices. He brings to Common Voices 20 years of experience in the telecommunications and data communications markets gained while working for leading companies including Alcatel, Telco Systems, TyLink/Sync Research, Motorola, and IPeria. He has held senior roles in product management, project management, US and international sales and partner development. Chris has developed partnerships with major equipment manufacturers including Alcatel, Motorola, Siemens, Cisco, Nortel, IBM, Sun, Sonus Networks, Sylantro, Broadsoft, and Convedia. He also has experience in technology and solution architectures for Voice Over IP, Enhanced Services, and IMS Wireless Architectures. Chris earned his MBA from Bryant University and his BS in Electrical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
